Straight answers
Do the originals come framed?
The canvases don't need one. They're painted round the edges and the navy and bronze border is part of the painting, so they arrive ready to hang. The paintings on board can be framed for an extra cost. Ask and I'll give you a price.
Can I return a painting?
Yes. If it isn't right on your wall, tell me within 14 days of delivery and send it back in its original packaging for a full refund.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
For originals outside the UK, get in touch first and I'll give you an exact shipping price before you pay.
Do you take commissions?
Sometimes. Send me the size, the colours you live with and the room it's for, and I'll tell you honestly whether it's something I can do well.
Can I see a painting before I buy it?
If you're near East Sussex, yes. Use the contact form below and we'll arrange it.
At the kitchen island
Every painting is made flat on the kitchen island, masking tape and all. This is The Village Green Preservation Society halfway through, and nearly finished.
About
I'm Simon Bone. I came to painting through photography after I retired, with no art school and no studio, just a kitchen island, fluid acrylics and whatever's playing on the speaker.
I paint two kinds of thing: hard-edged geometric pieces in deep colours, and horizon paintings built from bands of colour with one line that doesn't quite belong. Every one gets the same navy and bronze border.
I don't think you need to know an artist's story to own a painting. If you like it, that's enough.
